Reading, UK. PolicyMatter Ltd today announced the results of tests simulating PolicyMatter managing policies in large, corporate environments. The results show that PolicyMatter provides “enterprise-class” performance in multiple scenarios with varying workloads across networked communities of 100,000 users and above.

The tests were conducted using the Spirent Avalanche testing system, with PolicyMatter running on WebSphere’s application server architecture. The configuration also included WebSphere’s Network Deploy option for clustered environments, and the industry standard benchmark tool jAppServer2004, a multi-tier benchmark for measuring the performance of Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) technology-based application servers.

Performance demands on the PolicyMatter system vary according to the number of users on the system at any one time, the length of the policies, and the number of transactions required. These include optional question and answer schemes to test understanding, a feedback facility for automatically requesting comments in during a policy consultation phase. Using Spirent’s Avalanche testing capabilities, all of these functions could be replicated in the tests.
