FAQs

How does PolicyMatter know when to present policy to users?

One standard way is that if an employee is fully up-to-date with current policy, PolicyMatter recognises him / her as such the user. He / she logs on without any visibility of PolicyMatter.

However if a change has taken place (a new or amended policy, a new starter joins the company, someone changes role and Directory Services are changed), PolicyMatter automatically intercepts the user at log-in and presents them with the policy information before they are allowed to access the network. Depending on the priority of the policy, users may be allowed to defer reading the policy to the next working day.

Other methods can be used. Users can receive a link to PolicyMatter via email. Likewise, policies can be configured to have an automatic re-presentation date after a set number of weeks or months. Alternatively, if you've integrated PolicyMatter with other systems, such as an Internet security filter, you can use this to trigger policy presentation via PolicyMatter when a security violation is detected.
